The List

Okay, this blog is a little different. I actually have something to write about.
Usually its just me being bored and talking out of my ass (as usual)

In my last blog, I wrote about concerts and mentioned my list. Which got me thinking.
The so called list, is a mental list, and it would be quite a great a idea to actually sit down and write about what artists I've experienced live.
so here goes...

The first concert I ever attended is weird and might make me sound like some paisa. but hey, I knew the rapper Jae-P and I was actually just there for support.

So first up on my list is Jae-p, Akwid, Jennie Rivera, and the late Adan Sanchez.
The funny thing about this is that I had absolutely no clue who these people were. I would tap my friend on her shoulder and ask..."who is that?" as the crowd went wild.

hey, they're actual artist, so it's only fair that I include them.

My second and actual dope show was a Psycho Realm show. This show is what made me fall in love with the underground hip hop scene.
It was absolutely the best experience. FRONT ROW! and as much as it should of bothered me that I kept getting hit by the mic cords, or the rapper spit and sweat that was landing on me, or that I actually in all honesty, bumped into Sick Jacken's crotch; it didn't.
That night some real underground rapper, I sadly cannot remember his name, put the mic up to my mouth to sing along with him. And in my squeekiest voice I yelled "LICK PUSSY, LICK PUSSY!"
(haha) best shit ever.
This was a show soo dope, that I have repeatedly gone to psycho realm shows and hope to go to many more.

Through many shows the list has grown.
Immortal Technique, Mal Verde, Delinquent Habits.

My most favorite of the shows. The event I wait for every Year: Rock the Bells

Wu tang clan has been at the very top of my list, and I luckily have been fortunate enough to see all 8 of them perform. 8 of course because ODB is now RIP. (but his tribute was just as great)

although arriving late and missing many artist, I am able to say that i have seen
Public enemy( yes including Flava Flave) The Roots, Nas, and Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill live is (for lack of better word) THE SHIT. They are just extremely chill and the crowd goes entirely up in smoke. They broke out the giant bong and I think everyone within a 5 mile radius was high due to contact smoke! (haha)
a definate must to experience, especially when they bring out the classic songs like Dr. Green Thumb, or Hits from the bong.

BUT. no matter how dope it was to see these performers, I was anxious. Anxious to see my beloved Wu-tang clan. So although I was enjoying the show, I must admit I was anxious for them to GET THE HELL OFF THE STAGE! hahah BRING OUT THE WUU!

My life was complete when the stage went dark, and the only thing that was lit, was the Shaolin temple and the show begins "Wu tang clan aint nut'in to fuck with! Wu tang clan aint nut'in to fuck with!" I can honestly die happy now (haha)

After Wu tang was finished I was absolutely fortunate to see some legends. Most people will not ever get to experience them again for a LONG time. RAGE against the machine!
Awesome show! To actually get to see Zack de la rocha!(he totally almost fell) and my absolute favorite guitarist: Tom Morello (how I wish I was his guitar) haha!!

I know I may be getting a little carried away and this blog may be running too long, so I'll start cutting it short.

The last show I went to was the 2009 Rock The Bells Launch party. This was a total suprise. I actually WON the tickets on Myspace! The most unique part about this show was that I had absolutely no idea who was going to be performing.
This night was a night that made many of my dreams come true.
I was able to experience Nas, himself, Performing his Illmatic hits! I got to see Damien Marley,
Tech n9ne, Reakwon(littlechubbysunofagun) Fatlip and this is of course the night I experienced KRS-ONE. Once again I was front row(of course) and although this whole night was epic, a funny highlight involved chali tuna from Jurrasic 5.
He was standing sort of backstage, but I could see him from where I was standing. It was in between a song, and I think I completely caught him off guard. I yelled "HIIII CHALI!!!" (haha) and to my suprise, he waves back and poses for a picture!(made my whole night)
At this specific show I was introduced to and fell in love with 2 rappers: Murs and Supernatural.
It may sound a little over the top, but believe me when i say raw underated talent.

I also recently attended a Vampire Weekend concert. The vibe was totally different than what I am used to. But it was fun nontheless. Always have an open mind about music and just enjoy it. I had a great time even though it wasn't the type of music or vibe I am used to.

All these nights were crazy! and are a great example of living life to the fullest and just having fun. I know that when i get older, I am going to be listening to my old "records" and feel awesome that when I was young I was lucky enough to have experienced these artists live.
Never hesitate to have fun! enjoy life and live it up and make some crazy memories. I know These experiences will stay in my memories forever, and I just hope that I am able to create more of them as I grow older.
